Yitzhak Samuel is professor emeritus (specialist) of Sociology in the University of Haifa. At present he serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Management. Recently, he was affiliated with the Western Galilee College, where he served as Vice President and Head of Sir Harry Solomon School of Management. Among his many positions inside and outside the academy, Professor Samuel served as the Head of a Graduate Program in Organizational & Applied Sociology; Head of Graduate Program in Organizational Development; Chair of the Department of Sociology & Anthropology; and Associate Dean of the faculty of Social Sciences. He served a three years term as the President of the Israeli Sociological Society. For many years he was employed by RAFAEL (Armament Development Authority), where he was in charge of its Organizational Development; its Human Resource Development; and its Managerial Training and Development.
Prof. Samuel carries Bachelor Degree in Social Sciences from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Master Degree in Management Sciences from the Technion – The Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa, and Ph.D. Degree in Sociology from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. For over forty years he been occupied with academic teaching in several universities and with training of managers and executives; he has been engaged in both basic and applied research; in scientific and professional writing; as well as in organizational counseling to various public and private organizations.
